Client: General Stansław Maczek Polish School in Antwerp
Project: Logo
The school was looking for a logo that both embodied the man it was named after and evoked a positive reaction among its pupils.

I was inspired by the emblem of General Stanisław Maczek’s Polish 1st Armoured Division, which prominently features a pair of wings characteristic of the Winged Hussars—a famed cavalry unit from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. I combined these wings with an abstract image of a face that looks like it could have been drawn by a child at the school. The resulting logo contains the spirit of a riddle, which can easily be understood by students familiar with their school’s history. The image in the logo can additionally be used on its own as an icon. I also created guidelines for using the logo on letterheads, envelopes, stamps, signage, and business cards.
